Application Process

Testing and interviews will be conducted in Tokyo. (Date: TBA). If you are currently living in a country other than Japan, please contact JOI before applying.

Activity List
Please list eight activities, lessons, presentations, or speeches you could give if you were selected as a JOI coordinator. Your audience may be members of Japan affiliated organizations, elementary through college students or teachers, children who are part of a reading club at local libraries, adult community members of Rotary or other clubs.

Essay Questions
Please respond to these questions in one-page, using 1000-1200 characters for responses in Japanese or 400-500 words for responses in English.
  4) Why do you wish to apply to the JOI program? (Please respond in English.)
  5) What is the most challenging cross-cultural experience you have had? How did you overcome this challenge? From this experience, describe your views on cross-cultural exchange and international understanding. (Please respond in Japanese.)
  6) Please tell us about yourself including hobbies, interests, community activities, etc. (Please respond in English.)
   
Resume
Please prepare both resume (in English) and rirekisho (in Japanese). Please be sure to indicate what computer skills you possess. Are you familiar with PCs or Mac? What software programs are you comfortable using?
