Mission
The mission of the C-Corps, Jr. program is to build greater mutual understanding of the cultures of the United States and China among the American and Chinese participants in the high school community. With China headed toward becoming one of the world's largest ecnonomies during this century, the teaching of the Mandarin Chinese language is suddenly growing in American schools. Currently, there are nearly 800 pre-collegiate schools wiht Chinese language programs. This C-corps Jr. program expects the exchange student to share in the learning of Chinese and Chinese culture with their peers and in turn receive help from the American students with the English language work. Because of this program’s goals, participants will be able to contribute to the host school by being a lively and engaged “student cultural ambassador.”
